2019 Event Recap

1/19 Endowment Circle UCLA vs USC Basketball
Members of UCLA REAG’s Endowment Circle were invited to cheer on the Bruins as they took on the Trojans at the Galen Center. The UCLA Men’s Basketball team unfortunately lossed to USC, but EC members were provided a great opportunity to network and relax in a suite hosted by Sal LaViña.

2/19 Endowment Circle Women's Lunch
In February, the women of the REAG Endowment Circle hosted a small-group networking lunch for members and potential members to connect. The lunch was hosted at Toscanova Restaurant in Century City. Guests included a mix of alumni from different schools within the university who are all established females in the real estate industry.

2/20 San Francisco Development Tour - 288 Pacific
UCLA REAG’s San Francisco chapter had their kick off event for the year, a private tour of the Grosvenor’s 288 Pacific Property. Afterwards the group and several other REAG members met for happy hour at the Old Ship Saloon.

2/26 UCLA Bruin Real Estate Association Industry Night
On February 26 UCLA’s Undergraduate Real Estate Group, BREA with assistance of REAG undergrad committee hosted its 3rd annual Industry Night.  The event provides the students an opportunity to learn and connect to real estate companies and professionals.  Several REAG members attended the event to meet the eager students and to share their knowledge and network.

2/28 UCLA vs USC Men's Basketball

REAG hosted Alumni from Anderson, Law, and undergrad at the UCLA Men’s Basketball game against USC. The evening started with Happy Hour at the Luskin Center where Tim Kawahara, Executive Director of the Ziman Center joined the group.  The game was an exhilarating match, resulting in a tie at the end of regulation.  Although the trojans tried their best, it was ultimately a BruWIN!

3/6 UCLA Anderson Real Estate Association Industry Night
The Anderson Real Estate Associated hosted its annual Industry Night at the UCLA Luskin Center.  The event brings together MBA students and industry professionals together for a night of networking and discussions.  Tom Gilmore, Principal of Gilmore Associates was the key note speaker who shared his experiences developing Downtown Los Angeles.  REAG members where in attendance to help facilitate conversations and connections between the students and professionals.

3/14 Endowment Circle Event at Kennedy Wilson
On March 14 over 40 members of UCLA REAG’s Endowment Circle came together at Kennedy Wilson for a fun night of networking and card games.  In addition, UCLA REAG recognized Phillip Wintner, CFO of Kennedy Wilson for all of his contributions to the organization.

3/21 Opportunity Zones Power Lunch with Bruin Professionals

Bruin Professionals and the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group hosted another stellar Orange County networking event at the Boardwalk in Irvine. The event included a networking lunch, deal exchange opportunities, and closed out with a presentation and panel discussion about one of the hottest topics in real estate: opportunity zones.

4/11 Real Estate Law Association's Investiture

On April 11, the UCLA Real Estate Law Associated hosted its Investiture event at the Luskin Center.  Over 75 students, attorneys, and REAG members attended to meet the new RELA board and to honor Jeffrey A. Dinkin.  Jeffrey, JD class of 1984, is the co-founder of Regent Properties and offered the graduating students his words of wisdom on the many challenges to success.

4/23 Arixa Captial's 13th Annual Symposium
Arixa capital hosted its annual panel and mixer at the UCLA Luskin Center. The symposium titled “A View from the Top Revsited” was composed of an Opportunity Zone panel, networking session, and Main panel discussing current trends in the industry. Over 300 industry professionals were in attendance. UCLA REAG and the UCLA Ziman Center have sponsored the symposium for 13 years.

4/27 UCLA 20th Annual 5k Run/Walk

REAG’s hosted a team for UCLA’s annual 5K Run/Walk. REAG members along with their significant others were able to take a tour down memory lane as the route took them through and around campus, all for a great cause.  The Run/Walk fundraises for the Mattel Children’s hospital.

4/30 UCLA REAG Annual Membership Reception

On April 30th, Richard and May Ziman hosted the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group at their private residence in Beverly Hills.  The event is UCLA’s largest real estate networking event and is exclusive to current members only.
